I got a few bids for a new drainfield and the prices vary by thousands of dollars. Why is that?
Most all of the time you don`t get to compare apples to apples as they say. If one company is really cheap, they need to cut corners or will come to you when the permit is issued and claim they need more money because the health department now says you need to meet other requirements, however, you already signed a contract. This means you are stuck paying additional money and it will more then likely add up to the other bids that you received. Most of the time the cheap guys just play games with you, so you will sign a proposal and get your deposit.
